If you like you we can arrange your tours to the Cotopaxi, Quilotoa Lake or Illinizas in advance. Below more information about the different options. If you want we can help you make an acclimatisation plan, so you have more chance of reaching the top of the Cotopaxi.

Day tour to the North face of the Cotopaxi
From Latacunga we leave in our 4x4 vehicles at 08.30 am towards the mountain. After paying the entrance fee to the park, we will visit the small museum (Mariscal Sucre) and we continue to the Lagoon of Limpiopungo at 3.880m. Then we go to the parking site of the refuge at 4.650m and from here we will walk to the refuge José Rivas at 4.800m, it´s about 45 min. We ascend to the beginning of the glacier and return to Latacunga.

Day tour to the South face of the Cotopaxi
From Latacunga we leave in our 4x4 vehicles at 08.30 am towards the mountain. We will pass Mulaló to arrive to the parking site of the south face of the Cotopaxi at 4.000m. From here we continue trekking through volcanic landscape, inside big canyons formed by the volcanic eruptions. We hike for about 2 hours and in the afternoon we will return to Latacunga.

From Latacunga we leave in our 4x4 vehicles at 08.30 am towards the mountain. We will pass Mulaló to arrive to the parking site of Cotopaxi’s south face at 4.000m. From here we continue trekking trough volcanic landscape to 4.850m. It takes about 4 hours until we reach the glacier. We walk back for one hour and a half to our vehicle and return to Latacunga.

Day tour to the Quilotoa Crater Lake
From Latacunga we leave in our 4x4 vehicles and we take the highway to our first stop in Pujilí (small colonial town). We continue through beautiful landscape and Andean towns until arriving at the Quilotoa craterlake at 3.900m. Here it is possible to descend inside the crater or to walk around. In the afternoon we return to Latacunga.

From Latacunga we leave in our 4x4 vehicles and we take the highway to our first stop in Pujilí (small colonial town). We continue through beautiful landscape and Andean towns until arriving at the Quilotoa craterlake at 3.900m. From here we will continue walking for about 5 hours descending in the Toachi Canyon until arriving at the village Chugchilán at 3200m. In Chugchilan there will be waiting a vehicle that takes us back to Latacunga by a different road (Sigchos - Latacunga).

Climbing Cotopaxi
Day 1: From Latacunga we leave in our 4x4 vehicle to go up to 4.650m. From there we walk up for 200m to arrive at the Refuge José Rivas at 4.800m. In the afternoon we practice snow- and glacier climb techniques. At the refuge we have dinner and we go to sleep early. 
Day 2: At 01.00h am in the morning we ascend to the summit in approximately 6 hours. It takes around 3 hours to return to the Refuge and then back to Latacunga.

Climbing Illinizas
We leave Latacunga early in the morning to go towards the Illinizas Ecological Reserve. Once there we climb up the Illinizas Norte in about 6 hours. After reaching the top we hike back in about 2,5 hours and drive back to Latacunga.
