You thought you had seen it all in The Quilotoa Loop !!! Well I tell you no, there is a magical place hidden in the middle of the mountains “Angamarca”
If you want to try something fresh new and discover paths barely no travellers tried before, you will love the trail from Zumbahua to Angamarca. Massive hills with different landscapes, pure nature and animals from sheeps, donkeys, goats to beautiful horses and finally llamas, all that you can meet and see from very close distance. The only houses you will pass by are made by a long grass and belong to the inhabitants. This track is 25 km long and will make you feel proud of yourself when you climb from 3000 to almost 4500 m. It is possible get to the finnish in 7-8 hours but in case you want to divide this track into to 2 you can find an accomodation on a way or simply sleep in a tent in the nature.
As a best relax for your mucles and mind we highly recommend to stay at least one night in Barro Lodge. House on the hillside with spectacular view on the valley and the mountains in the back. It is also possible use a fireplace and enjoy watching stars accomanied by a scorching fire. The other days you can ride horses or just relax surrounded by green. If you want to prolong your Quilotoa Loop for more days, it is possible to contintue from the lake to Zumbahua (12 km) and follow the route to Angamarca.
