One of the most favourite attractions in Ecuador is definitely the lake Quilotoa, 3-kilometre (2 mi)-wide water-filled crater and the most western volcano in the Ecuadorian Andes. It is possible to spend just one day making a loop around the lake or you can enjoy a beautiful trip with breath taking landscapes and views that can take you 3 or also 4 and more days. Latacunga is a strategic place for making trips like Quilotoa loop, Cotopaxi, Angamarca and many more. In hostal Tiana you can meet a travel buddies and get a lot of information and tips from people who already arrived from the tour. Most of them leave their staff by us and take just an important things for a couple of days and then come back to relax and head to another trip.
If you start your hiking from Sigchos or you take it from the opposite direction the bus ride takes you between 1,5 and 2,5 hours and provides amazing views of massive hills of all the types of green. Usually you make around 12 km/7 miles a day and the rest of the day you can enjoy in the comfort of the hostals in hammocks, jacuzzi, sauna, by the fire etc. The mountain terrain is easy to walk through but be aware of the different altitude from 2800 to almost 4000 m where you can decide if you want to follow the path or enjoy hiking in the trail.
